Presence.
Touch.
Balance.
Shiatsu begins with presence. A moment of arriving and noticing what is here in the body. Through touch, the body is met with gentle pressure and awareness, allowing tension to soften in its own time. From there, natural balance can return not as something forced, but something the body remembers.
What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork practice that works with the body through touch. Using gentle pressure, stretches, and movement along the body’s energy pathways, it supports balance in both the physical and emotional body. Sessions are done fully clothed on a futon on the floor, creating a grounded and supported experience.
“Shiatsu is not merely a technique, but a way of understanding life.”
- Masunagi
How can shiatsu help?
You might come for Shiatsu if you’re experiencing:
- Stress or overwhelm
- Tension in your body or mind
- Fatigue or low energy
- Trouble relaxing or sleeping
- Emotional heaviness
- A need reconnect with yourself
- Mobility restrictions or joint discomfort
A shiatsu session is calm and quiet. Sometimes it feels deeply relaxing, and sometimes more activating.
